Woman Injured in Pennsylvania After Hitting Wall

You may have noticed your mind wander briefly, or caught yourself staring too long at something as you’ve been driving. Sadly that’s all that’s needed for a car accident to occur. It is important to stay alert constantly, as you never know when danger might present itself. Even an unexpected change in your everyday route can be enough to catch you out if you’re not careful. In Pennsylvania, an elderly woman was injured when her car hit a wall.

The 85-year-old woman had been driving near Geisinger Medical Center late one morning, when her car clipped a loading van. The van was parked at the time, but the impact was enough to send the woman’s car crashing into the wall of the hospital. She was admitted to the emergency room following the accident, but was said to have been conscious at the time. The occupants of the van were unharmed.

It is not certain why the incident occurred and police were unable to interview the woman before she was hospitalized. It is fortunate, however that nobody died in the crash, especially given the age of the victim. Her car received significant damage during the crash, as well as inflicting minor scuffs on the other vehicle. Depending on the results of any investigation into the accident, she or the other driver may choose to seek compensation.

How An Attorney Can Help You Earn Compensation

Whatever the case, this woman faces medical bills and the cost of repairing her car. This is where an attorney in Pennsylvania can be particularly useful. If you are involved in an accident, an attorney can help you pursue the compensation you deserve and may also be able to help you acquire a fair payout from your insurance company.
